How Anabolic Steroids Work

What they are and, why they and water are anabolic, also how YOU can make great gains without them.  


Teenagers especially, and even bodybuilders up to their early to mid-twenties should be especially wary of exogenous (manufactured outside the body) anabolics. At this age, your stud bod is already producing peak levels of testosterone and the body is primed for tremendous growth, if you train musclesmart by eating properly for YOUR SHOWMUSCLE . YOUR TEENAGE YEARS IN PARTICULAR are when you can make totally awesome progress BUT ONLY IF YOU DO IT RIGHT, AND THAT MEANS : GETTING YOUR PERSONAL MUSCLE GROWTH PACKAGE RIGHT, AND NOT HAVING ANY WEAK LINKS IN YOUR MUSLE GROWTH CHAIN. Your bod is actually capable of producing natural growth chemicals, which would put any exogenous steroids to SHAME! What’s more there are NO side effects.


DIET:

As a bodybuilder you should be eating a minimum of 5-6 nutritiously balanced meals a day (build up to this gradually rather than going straight into it and, if necessary increasing - some guys need to eat ten meals a day to gain) the number of meals (ideally every 2.5 hours) until you start to add on quality lean muscle mass at about one pound per week. If you start to add fat, cut back daily by 250 calories, and then if still nothing positive happens, after one week, add another 250 calories daily. (Continue doing this reducing after every two weeks, until your bod responds by reducing by one pound a week). Adding or reducing by more than 2 pounds max a week, will cause potential problems.

It is vitally important, that you FIRST build your muscle on a drug-free base. Introducing an anabolic program earlier, is not only redundant, but DANGEROUS. ALSO, with the first cycle of steroids, if you do them properly, you will make massive gains but ONLY relative to your muscular bodyweight at the time; sometimes around 10 – 15% extra muscle gain (some studs, will even slab-pack on more than this on the right, intensive regime.)

Thereafter, any further intake of steroids will provide a significantly LOWER muscle gain with each cycle. Accordingly, if you weigh say, a steel hard 200 pounds with low body fat, you might expect to slab-pack on 20 plus pounds of rippling, steel hard exploding muscle that bulges out of your rags  in seam-splittin’ style. HOWEVER, if you only weigh 100 pounds, your gains will probably ONLY be around a mere 5 or so pounds, which you could gain through smartmuscle training anyway. This is partially because, you need to eat like it’s going outta style when you’re on the ‘gear’ as well as train like an animal, but also because you muscle ‘pathway scaffolding’ foundation has NOT yet been established to allow maximum growth and end results.

SLEEP: 8-10 hours a day. Some guys that are simply adding muscle so quickly that they are fast running out of any rags to cover their indecency! Sleep 12 hours! REMEMBER: Sleep is when you grow the FASTEST. REST & RECUPERATION comes next. Never also, after a balls-out workout program where you ‘kill’ yourself, be afraid, say after six weeks, to take a whole weeks lay-off. This will allow you to ‘recharge your batteries’ and commence the muscle battle for growth at an even more ‘evil’ intensity.

For the first two workouts you will be weaker and may even lose a pound or two. You will however granite-harden up, and soon get to the stage you were before the lay-off, and then stud, you will supercharge ahead, as though you have booster-rockets ‘where the sun don’t shine!’ Your slab-packing success will then far exceed what it would have been without the smartmuscle rest.

DRINK WATER by sipping regularly throughout the day. When you do this, that h20 becomes almost anabolically charged. YOUR BOD is 70% constructed of water. Say you are 150 pounds bodyweight, then about 95 pounds of that comprises good old water, and about 50 pounds of protein and fat!

WATER: serves as the fluid medium of body secretions and excretions for the blood, lymph, digestive juices, bile, muscle-sweat, urine and faecal matter. This makes it critical to every function in the body, including temperature regulation, nerve-impulse conduction, circulation, metabolism, eliminative processes, the immune system and all the rest.

Water is the ‘magical’ medium in which all chemical changes within the billions of cells of the body take place. When showmuscle does NOT consume sufficient water on a consistent basis, dehydration occurs. This reduces blood volume, creating a more concentrated blood supply, which in turn, places more stress on the heart. The muscles are not adequately supplied with oxygen and nutrients, and necessary elimination, which also includes the ‘harmful free radicals,’ which are incredibly uploaded through balls-out training, are restricted. Most importantly of all, your brain is actually in danger of shrinking. This condition therefore impairs neuromuscular coordination, concentration and, the overall thinking process. So for mind and muscle studs DON’T MISS OUT ON WATER!

Now here’s something to get ‘your teeth into!’ By the time your feeling thirsty, it’s usually too late, and thousands of muscle and brain cells have been damaged or destroyed. Just 3 percent dehydration causes the muscles to lose 10 percent of their contractive strength and 8 percent of their speed.

Athletes in general and showmuscle bodybuilders in particular MUST-MUST-MUST pay strict attention to taking in plenty of water. If your fingers start cramping, that’s a sure sign that danger levels are approaching rapidly. Flying in an aeroplane, buildings with poor circulation, or living in a dry climate, you can lose as much as two pounds of water in under three hours; sometimes considerably more. Also, remember that coffee, colas, or alchohol significantly speed up the process of dehydration by acting as diuretics.

Protein, which is essential for muscle growth, results in ketones, and these are toxic. A diet over-rich in protein produces a condition known as ketosis and this rapidly dehydrates muscles. To further stress the muscles, which have a limited ability to store water anyway, unless a regular supply of water is received, they are unable to perform to the max. A muscle that cannot perform to the max will not grow to the max. You can determine this condition yourself by placing your hand across your mouth, breathing into it, and smelling the result. If it is rather foul smelling, you are probably producing ketones. The people close to you will be able to confirm this anyway, if they have not already done so!

Stress is another major factor. But even when life is placid and the outlook is mellow, the average bodybuilder loses, two cups of water just through breathing, two-three cups a day through invisible sweating, and another six cups through the elimination processes. Add one additional cup for a balls-out workout where your training rags almost become transparent and you have to wring them out. Man, that’s 10-12 cups of water lost a day. Now some of this is taken through the foods you eat, particularly fruit, some of which comprise 80-95% water.

Rather remarkably, your own body is a water producer! It makes and utilizes energy and as a by-product of this, there is the metabolic process of water – about half a cup a day. So roughly, about ten percent is gained from metabolism, thirty percent from the foods we eat, and the remainder; a whacking great sixty percent must be consumed in the form of fluids. Drinking at least half-a-cupful by sipping every twenty minutes will ensure that your body is working at maximum – anabolic water – efficiency.


 

WATER-ANABOLIC SHOWMUSCLE RECAP FOR SERIOUS STUDS! IT IS:

About 95 pounds of a 150-pound bodybuilder is water. Protein and stored fat together, account for another 50 pounds. The rest is minerals, glycogen (blood sugar), and other substances, such as nucleic acids.

NOW you will gather, that water is often the very basic ingredient for DRIVING SERIOUS MUSCLE GROWTH TO NEW SIZE ZONES. IF you don’t respond to this, you don’t deserve to build a hot, stud bod and moreover, you most probably won’t!

 


STEROIDS

Introducing steroids into your system upsets the balance between testosterone and other endocrine hormones and launches your body into an extremely anabolic state. The steroid molecules attach to cortisol receptor sites on the muscle cells and prevent cortisol from catabolizing any lean mass. In scientific terms, the action of most steroids is really more anti-catabolic than anabolic.

Typical Gains

Most bodybuilders experience their greatest gains in their first cycle of steroid use. One individual, put on 10lbs of muscle and added 20lbs to his bench in only 10 days using a stack of Sustanon and Deca-Durabolin. Sustanon is a pretty hard-core drug so these results are pretty exceptional. However, it's not at all unusual to see someone gain 30lbs on an 8-week cycle.

The problem is: that after a cycle, your body crashes into a very catabolic state and you begin shrinking. Man you lose it! Most bodybuilders find it difficult to keep the gains they make which is why supplements are still popular with the drug using crowd for somewhat ameliorating this "crash" at the end of a cycle. The more you take steroids, the greater demand from the body for more. But there comes a time, when even more means less, and that’s when your physiological system rebels and gains stop a coming. Unfortunately, your natural process of hormonal secretion is barely functioning by now, and so to put it mildly, you’re now in a deep pile of ‘doo-doo!’

The reason for the muscle disappearing is that while you're on anabolic steroids, your body shuts down its natural production of testosterone in a desperate attempt to regulate hormonal levels. When you go off the drugs, it takes a while for your testicles to ramp up testosterone production – sometimes they never become maximally efficient ever again.. For this reason, many bodybuilders add less androgenic drugs at the end of a cycle as they ease down on the dosage of the heavier steroids.

Side Effects

A lot of milder steroids don't have very serious short term effects at all, but the more serious steroids like Sustanon and Dianabol put you through the wringer during and immediately after a cycle, and there are possible long-term effects too:

Water retention, acne, high blood pressure, heart palpitations, sweats, oily skin and shrunken testicles (if you want to strut your stuff, there may not in the end be a lot to strut!) have to be expected as a possibility rising to a probability, when you're on a cycle. Steroids aren't fatal over the short term--you don't often hear of anyone dying from a steroid overdose--but they can be fatal over a long duration of abuse, and this is becoming a pretty regular occurrence.

Liver damage and heart problems are the two most serious ailments that strike those who have a long history of steroid abuse. These conditions can kill you.

The Bodybuilder’s steroid Arsenal

If you’re considering using any of these substances, you should reflect seriously and consider whether it is worth the possibility of damaging your long-term health for extra muscle? In any case before proceeding, examine these drugs in much greater detail. Some of the most commonly used bodybuilding anabolic drugs are briefly described below.
 

Deca-Durabolin

Mildly androgenic and moderately anabolic. This is probably the most popular anabolic steroid with few serious side effects over the short term. Comes in pre-loaded ampules. Dosage is typically between 200 and 400mg per week.
 

Dianabol

Very damaging to the liver. Causes water retention, acne and a host of other side effects. This is a very potent oral steroid. Causes huge gains in strength and size but is it really worth it? Dosage can ranges from 3 to 8 tabs a day.
 

Winstrol V

A veterinary drug basically, which bodybuilding has adopted. It's not very androgenic at all and it doesn't aromatize into estrogen, it works, but don't expect the kind of gains you'd see from Dianabol or Sustanon.
 

Sustanon

This stuff causes spectacular gains in muscle size and strength and is a composite of four different synthetic testosterones.  Be however prepared for commensurate side effects. Sustanon is an injectable steroid. With testosterone (stacking)  it is a real meat packer. One preloaded ampule per week is typical dosage.
 

Primobolean Depot

A relatively safe steroid  but are the mild gains and mild side effects worth the trouble and expense? Injectable and oral forms exist. 200mg per week of the injectable form is typical dosage.
 

Insulin

Anabolic steroids won't kill you overnight. However, insulin can and most probably will, if you don’t know what you’re doing.  Insulin is a natural constituent and well managed by the body. However if you play around with this staff without knowing exactly what you’re about, you might consider a wooden box right now! Insulin is sort of the bodybuilding frontier, there’s a definite art and considerable finess in ‘spiking,’ if under strict ,expert medical supervision itcan work wonders. GH1 - Growth Hormone

The career of Dennis Newman (who was rapidly progressing his way to becoming the  most incredible bodybuilder ever), was effectively ended and so was his life as near as dammit at one point, when his many years of growth hormone abuse ,combined with that of other drugs resulted in bone cancer and life threatening side effects. In addition to spurring the growth of new muscle cells, growth hormone appears to enhance fat burning. It is most effective when combined with some kind of anabolic steroid to spur growth in the nascent muscle cells. It’s risky and also, very expensive. Be warned, get expert advice and supervision, but preferably, DON’T touch it.
 

IGF-1

Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 has been credited for awesomely slab-packing the Olympia top stars average weight from around 225lbs to close to 270lbs.  This is one of the most potent drugs ever conceived for muscle growth. However, it is spectacularly expensive: $175 for 25 micrograms.  Again. There are great dangers if not professionally supervised.

THEY’RE ALL DOING IT!

Combining (stacking) several anabolic steroids, insulin, growth hormone and IGF-1plus countless others in the off-season to achieve the spectacular physiques you see in the magazines and on stage.

These competitive elite bodybuilders of today are using steroids and other anabolic drugs in absolutely insane doses all year round.  Will they live to regret it, or die in the process? Probably both in the majority of cases.

Train and grow for the love of the sport and for the thrill of striving towards your own goal and aspirations. If you have ideas about getting rich through your bodybuilding, forget it now. To get as good as the top guys are, takes a commitment and dedication that is unbelievable, plus a fantastic monetary investment in drugs. Most of these athletes put their prize-money right back into drugs and usually later on in their life, they are not really fitted for anything to provide themselves with a comfortable living. Mostly they exist within the bodybuilding world and end up sad members of society. Of course there are exceptions, like everything else in life.

 

IF YOU STILL INTEND TO GO THE DRUG WAY

If after all this, you still want to take drugs, please seek the very finest advice you can afford. Make absolutely sure that their source is genuine and get the provenance for this ALWAYS – NO EXCEPTION. If somebody is NOT prepared to do this, you may be sure that their product is suspect. A great many drugs are sub-standard black-market stuff, with the potential of causing you permanent injury or worse, eventual death.

If you are over say 23yrs old and your hormonal secretions have become soundly established, then the ball is firmly in your court. If you are competing seriously, undoubtedly, you will be on them, or giving serious consideration to this. JUST THINK TWICE! It is not only your muscles that are empowered to grow, other vital organs also. Unfortunately, these are not so cooperative and have a tendency to grow and grow and grow, sometimes with fatal results.

CYCLING: THE ONLY SENSIBLE WAY

If you MUST! Then. CYCLE your drugs, building up from a low dose and increasing weekly to a high point over several weeks/months. Then STOP TOTALLY, and take two weeks off (at least) from taking any drugs – preferably more. Then start again from the low-dose point, and so on. This will prove more effective and is infinitely safer. The body is more inclined to accept such a regime. You will also achieve, maximum growth. NEVER CONTINUE TAKING DRUGS NON-STOP. Confusing the body is the REAL secret.

Remember also: NOT ALL bodies grow the same on drugs. Some will react adversely and cause a plethora of medical problems. SO IN THE END, IS IT WORTH IT?
